In May's hot afternoon, Maria seemed frustrated. Although it was a Sunday, it didn't seem so! She was, so called, busy in all the household chores. The dishwasher kept ringing but Maria's attention was at one thought, which kept her away from all the buzzers of various electronic items, meant to cut time in their fast life.
David, a hardware engineer by profession used to travel in different areas of the city all throughout the day working till very late and even on Sundays. David Christian married Maria Suzann some months back. Both the families had typical Indian ideologies and both had arranged marriage but soon they fell in love in their courtship days and settled down. As a couple, both had thought of spending much time together but the busy life in Mumbai crashed their hopes! As David wasn't able to give enough time to Maria, She always thought of one thing: "Does he still love me?"
Emotional and sensitive by nature, Maria gave no second thought to this hence always ended up being frustrated and depressed adding to her work pressure. Maria had 9am-6pm job in a local telecom company as an assistant. Her day would start at 6 in the morning and she ended up sleeping at 11 pm. There was no significant interaction between Maria and David as he used to come late at 10.30 pm everyday. Whenever they used to sit together, they used to fight and argue. David, one day, left office early leaving all his pending work to persuade his wife. On the way to his house, he stopped by a flower shop and bought a bright red budding rose which Maria loved and also bought a new silk Saree, red in color. He went home and told Maria to get ready as they decided to dine outside.
Maria felt a bit happy as his husband was taking her out for the first time after many months. She got ready and for her surprise, they stopped by a restaurant where they first dated! Maria's happiness knew no bounds as they sat on the same table where they used to sit earlier.Then, David gave her, her favorite rose. Maria could not control her feelings and tears started rolling from her eyes. She got her answer to her question- "Yes, he still loves me a lot". Adding to her surprises, she got another beautiful gift. Her favorite red silky saree. She hugged him. Doubts cleared and happiness again ruled their life. Love is inspiring!
